So I know we are early in the process, but does anyone have ideas for what they are going to do with the stock exhaust on this bike? I really like the color of the exhaust, but am absolutely going to do something different with it. Not a lot of options that I can tell.

I had a similar dilemma with my ‘18 and wanted to keep the stock color so I went with Fullsac. If you use their head pipe and cores for the mufflers you can keep all the stock heat shields and still have a great sounding bike.

Dittto on the issue and ditto on using Fullsac. Going with 2.25 and their header. I do like the titanium look of the stock pipes and haven’t found anything that i like to replace.

Are you looking for a 2 into 1 or staying with duals?

Does the fullsac header pipe have cat in it?

yes, it is an issue

I'm a little concerned about the Fullsac route. Given they are out of CA, and I'm in WI. Most people here (myself included) go with Fuel Moto, but to date they don't have an option for me to keep the stock end caps on the 4" mufflers. I really want to keep the stock look on this one! :nixweiss:

Fullsac is in Arizona, not California. Not sure what state either of you are located in has anything to do with baffles and a header but i just thought you ought to know Steve is not in CA. You know you can install Fullsac baffles, retain your stock header and still have a cat, if that is important to you.
-
Yep, my bad. I've been following Fullsac since I bought my 2010 CVO. I guess that I get a little worried whenever I start to add/change components and remap my ECM. Have always used Fuel Moto here in WI, so we'll see what they say for options that they have available. If not, I know a lot of people on this forum have had great success with Fullsac.

Install a set of FullSac 2.25 CVO cores in your OE mufflers, If you’re on the fence with warranty & retaining the OE headpipe, I’d install the cores & still invest in a great tune at Fuel Moto
(I personally think a great tune is money well spent even on a stock bike)
btw, I know of a rider that had a complete FullSac set up on his CVO SG & FM declined doing the tune cause of FullSac headpipe... :(
Right, wrong, or indifferent that’s what I know

What to do... :nixweiss: Maybe ride as is this fall and do something in the spring. I maybe have another month or so of riding before the weather turns. That would give some time to do a little more research on the topic.

Flashing the ECM with an aftermarket tuner is the big warranty problem. You can always change the head pipe back before going in for repairs (not the greatest option on the road however). The tune is logged in memory. TTS is supposed to be different by having ability to save and reinstall entire ECM info, not just map. Haven't heard of real world experiences with warranty after reprogramming a TTS tune on 2017 and up so not sure.

100% that with the TTS you can "flash back" and it will not show on a M8.

Ok, the mufflers on my bike are not going to last until spring! Other than the Fullsac option, has anyone looked at going to a HD black system with Street Cannons and the HD tuner? I would like to keep my warranty intact this time.

FWIW...I have a rider friend who just had this system bolted on his '19 CVO RG with HD tuner.. Looked great, sounded great, owner was very pleased with seat of the pants increase & driveability

Thanks for the link. I've looked at that as my back up option. I really wanted to keep the stock heat shield and muffler color on the bike as it's unique. The black might be my only option at this point.

:2vrolijk_21: It's really a nice looking system & sounded great too

The heat shields on your CVO mufflers can be re-used on any 4" can that you choose so that you can retain the stock look. I know a guy that used his Defiance exhaust tips and heat shields from his 18 SERG on a set of TAB chrome mufflers and you cannot tell by looking. By the way your mufflers are chrome as well under your heat shields.
-
Only problem is tab mufflers will void warranty! Not epa compliant!!

So why can't the unmolested factory cans be put back on in case of a warranty claim? :nixweiss:

I noticed on mine that even the mufflers have a clamped on shield. I assume that the red pepper bikes are the same... Wondering if you could just transfer the heat shields and keep the same look with some better sounding pipes??
-
The heat shields will work with most 4" mufflers. If you change the head pipe, Bassani's will also work w/factory shields.
If you use a non-HD tuner, it will record to the ECU. I'm not sure if the TTS Tuner really does re-map and remove the record, but it's a risk.
The "easy" option is just to replace the mufflers with BoneShakes/Neighbor Haters/TAB/etc. I'm trying to figure out myself the best option. My dealer tells me so long as I use the HD Pro Street Tuner, the warranty will be fine.
