Title: 21x5.5" Fat tire, is a rake kit needed?
Post by: Twism_23 on December 11, 2018, 11:18:32 AM
Thinking about putting a 21x5.5" Fat tire on the front of my bike. Obviously the 21x3.5" is fine, will I have to rake the front end with the wider tire due to the added height from tire profile? Thanks in advance.

Native does 18x8.5, not the 21" stuff.

Yes. The 21" fat tire will need the same tree change as if running a 23" (same tire height). The Pickard trees are worth the money.

The 23" fat tire uses the same neck kit as a standard 26" (same tire height).

Right now only choice of tire is the Vee Rubber. I've run these without issue however they don't last long.
