Title: Rear hub squeeking
Post by: Bungy on July 16, 2019, 10:12:48 AM
I have a squeak coming from the rear hub area of my ‘08. It is a rubber type noise and only appears after riding for an hour or so. It’s obviously a drive train noise aa it is linear with wheel rotations. It is not belt or sproket related as I have put it on a hoist and the noise is definitely coming from the hub area. I suspect the iso drive. Any ideas?

Could still be the belt, when you lift the bike up the belt tension changes. Wheel bearings or the isolator in the Cush drive are other possibilities.

Wheel bearings "typically" make more noise when the bike is laid over in a turn.  You can also detect a bad wheel bearing when the wheel is off the bike and you use your finger to roll the bearing around.  It should be turning smooth with no bumps.
