Title: wanted - pics of Zumo 660 install on SERG
Post by: tlr on May 26, 2009, 08:44:02 PM
Hi all,

Hi just received my new Zumo and want to install on my SERG.  Unfortunately it is not as simple as the 550 which you could just plug into the cig lighter.  From what I am reading the best approach is to use the wire that comes off of the headlight wire harness.  I am heading out to Americade next week so want to give this a try this weekend.  Pics of course would be appreciated.

ok fine, forget the pictures.  Can someone please explain how I wire the 660.  I have the fairing off.  For some reason iI do not have the extra wire coming from the headlight wires.  Can I wire to cig lighter.  Is that a cold wire so it will chit of when bike is off?  ALso where do I connect second wire from 660 to?  Is that a ground?    Thanks all.

This is very helpful.  I thought that you can't cut the cable for the 660.  This is exactly what i want to do.  Can you please explain a bit more.  Like once you cut the cabke what wires did you use for the cig lighter.  what about the fact that you lose the inline fuse.  does that matter.  Thanks

Thats great.  Thanks again.  I will go to Radio Shack today and get a plug and then start the operation.
