Title: Throttle binding
Post by: mcdonaldroadcapt on July 05, 2012, 01:22:45 PM
The throttle on my 2008 SE Ultra is starting to bind. I took off the grip to eliminate it being in need of lubrication.  When I grab the geared plastic part on the end of the handlebar where the grip attaches, it is very hard to roll on.  It will spring back to zero but when rolling on it binds. Any ideas on how to cure? How does one remove this internal part to lubricate?

If you are 'going in', it might be a good idea to see if your local dealer has one on hand. I've not heard that they are serviceable.

They are not serviceable and cannot be lubricated according to my dealer.  Had mine replaced in April due to binding.
