Title: Cool Breakout Video.
Post by: MikeD on August 28, 2012, 11:11:49 PM
Decent looking blonde with too much eye make up riding a breakout through a city at night and finishes at daybreak with nice shots of the bike at day break. Well produced video though.

Here you go... Does it mean it's a girls bike?  ;)

I would like to see one in person.  Some pretty cool things on it.

Thanks. May or may not be a "girls bike" but I wouldn't mind riding B.............. BSR to the girl riding the bike in the video. :P ;D

Cool video of Downtown LA. Like the Geary designed Walt Disney Concert Hall shot! Nice bike too.

Nice Video.  However, it does look like she stole the bike.  Does the 2013 not come with a security system?

harley sure is going down the tubes.advertising this as a womans bike.their market is mostly european men,not women or minorites.the management at harley is really out of touch with their market.and please no mean comments.these are the facts.

I would disagree as the female and minority markets are the growing markets according to their audit reports.  Also, all the old white men are going to die soon and then what?!  Ha!   :huepfenlol2:

By using a woman in one advertisement hardly deems this a "woman's bike".  I've seen many women on baggers. Maybe the european men should give those up?

Associating women with small, weak and puny is b.s.

i will agree with you about old white men dying off.when that happens hd will be out of business.women and minorities will NEVER keep harley going as a business.i think you probally have gone to harley rallys, and who was and is about 95% of the harley market?i rest my case.

Associating women with small, weak and puny is b.s
HA! HA! HA!

that is a politically correct statement.

Love all 3 color schemes on the Breakout, but partial to the black/chrome...wow!!
BUT sorry...that side mount license holder is hideous!
Gotta believe they'll be offereing alternative options in their accessory catalog for that ugly piece!

I agree  :'( That side mount license plate holder is a deal breaker for me.

It's like they spent a lot of time and effort in designing a really nice bike, got done and said "Chit" we forgot about the license plate!!  The other guy said:  "Well just stick one on somewhere"!!

Hey folks,

Little confused....where else could they put the plate?(not being a jackass, i am really wanting to know)  Several bikes now have the plate mounted on the side so the rear end can be seen w/o a clunky plate in the way(the V-Rod Muscle does this as well)....I think the plate is pressure mounted, so couldn't you fold it in up against the bike and keep it mostly out of site?

I do agree, the plate looks kind of crappy in the folded out position...

I'm hoping someone will come out with an aftermarket chrome one that displays the plate vertically...and perhaps curved.  Maybe Kuryakn will put something out??

Here's a pic of one under the fender...looks better than their side mount bracket (IMO)!

hmmm, yea, I disagree.  That rear end was designed to show as much meat as possible, and to have a chopped appearance- the plate there hides it way too much and really takes away from the design.

I think side mount plates are a necessary evil to allow designers to make the proper aesthetic choices....

Well, they should have followed Big Dog's lead and made it a solid, chrome aluminum one that's more aesthetically pleasing instead of that cheesy "after-thought" looking thing that slapped on their "top-of-the-line" CVO model.

Hopefully there will be an accessory upgrade or aftermarket option to dress it up.

I AGREE AND LIKE THE IDEA OF SHOWING MORE OF THAT FAT REAR tIRE! :2vrolijk_21:

You are right about that.  I have seen some that were mounted vertically and curved to be less disruptive to the visual lines of the bike....

This license plate holder on the latest PJD bike (American Chopper) - or something like it - would look MUCH better on the CVO Breakout than that "thing" Harley stuck on there!
Wonder where he got it (you know he didn't build it himself!), and IF it would fit on the CVO Breakout without requiring modification??

Ah, i like that.  I took delivery last night and I can confirm it looks uhber ugly, just screws up the lines of the bike.

Before hatin' on the MoCo though, I think they did this(horizontal mounting high on the bike) to ensure it is legal in all states and internationally(I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt).  There is just no way the engineers and teams who worked tirelessly to put this bike together would think that the placement of the plate bracket is astetically pleasing, right  ?????

The good think about trying to fit an axle mounted bracket is that the electrical is already there to attach to the light, which I would think would be the biggest hassle with an aftermarket bracket...

That would be my guess too... the license plate holder in the post above yours (PJD) I don't believe is legal in all (if any) states. :nixweiss:

The CVO graveyard is filled full of over priced past models that never caught on.  ;D

Well this model has sold out in most counties outside the US... So I think it has caught on  :huepfenjump3:
