On a twin cool bike, the metal tubes at the top that go into the connector, how far do the tubes push in ? Should the ridge be showing or does it go any further?

I was able to use a pair of channel locks and they popped right in.

Did you loosen the screw and hold em in clamp?  They are held in to the manifold by a screw and semi clampy thingamadoo.

After setting the flange in the pipe, it made a lot more sense for it to be flush so the clamp can hold it in place. My last bike was an 06 so some new stuff I have to learn about . Some tough spots but has been fun building so far. I am an amateur with just enough knowledge to get me in trouble.
