Cooling fan question
« on: June 16, 2018, 11:05:30 PM »

Are both fans supposed to be on at the same time or they can run one at a time?

I seem to remember something about the fans turning on in stages, based on actual coolant temperature.  If you want to just test to make sure both fans will actually run, you can do that by turning on the ignition but not starting the engine, then roll the throttle grip to about half throttle and hold it for a few seconds.  Both fans and the water pump should operate.  Turn off the ignition to cancel the test.

I'm just going on memory, so hopefully someone else will chime in if I've "mis-remembered" how it works.   ;)
