Don,

I've got a question for ya. My scooter runs super now, but, there is one little thing I notice that wasn't there before. Whenever I'm sitting at a red light etc, I can't help but to twist the throttle if for nothing else to hear it bark a little. Lots of times it will spit, sputter and act like it's going to quit. Then, it will go right back to running right again. Seems it does it worse whenever I quickly twist the throttle.

Do I make sense?

First idea comes in to play only if it's on a hot engine.  The first step (I've notcied) of the TM's heat management routine is to lower the idle RPM.  Can get low enough to lope a bit, make the start up accel lag a bit or even make the RPM low enough that the charging system warning kicks on.  If that's all it is it's no big deal.  Just ride it and don't worry.  Perhaps feather the clutch a bit more on takeoff to compensate for it.

Those 50cc two strokes have a tendency to do that

I've never looked at it. If I had a laptop there..Can you show me anything about it? I'd have to borrow a laptop.

Common HogBreath, you had to expect it was coming given the title of this thread and the verbiage you used in your post. I mean even I who, usually resists the cheap and easy joke, could not help myself.

I knew it was coming. But you also know I was just BSing. I'm tougher than that, I used to be married to my Ex.

First off, being in the UK you'll have metric spanners.  I didn't think of it.  Martians are like Americans (or is that Americans are like Martians?), they don't use metric tools unless they have to.  So the frakking Martians will be no help to us on anything European.  They're just bastards that way.

On your #1.  From my experience yes, it's normal and acceptable.  You'd line it up if it wasn't "fine" already.  If it is then you're just that much farther along.  On my own I had to tweak the tail end of the line.  But only slightly.  On the other one I did the ends of the line had already walked toward each other and continued in a nice fluid line.

On your #2, yes again.  The closer is the base map the quicker will be the learning curve.  On the red bike the base map seemed to be pretty close to begin with.  I still noticed it "learning" for the first 500 miles or so.  Most dramatically at first.  Then slightly as time and miles passed.

If yours does as mine did you'll notice it continually start a bit easier as the learning curve grows.  Idle will smooth out.  Acceleration curves will feel smoother.  It's actually an interesting process to notice if you're paying attention to it.

Excellent - just as I'd hoped 2L.  Hard to believe that the Tee Mat is really as easy as this - but it is!  :)

Now, if I could just get a reply from Zipper's sales..... as usual!  >:(   You might recall our HDI bikes have an active valve on the exhaust and inlet. The cable to the active inlet valve has exactly the same connector as the HD O2 plugs.  "Please Mr Zipper, can I buy another cap to blank this connector off?"   Silence...  >:(

Cheers,

Jim

After the fact support and/or advice may not be their best thing Jim.  I remember one question (in fact the only question) I'd asked of them after finally getting all my parts back.  It was asked (and re-asked) for about a month before finally receiving an answer.    The T-Max seems to be a good idea in a truly effective and functional package.  More than the package, however, is pretty much up to us.  At least that's the way it seems.

Yes, you summed it up nicely there, 2L.  A little bit disappointing that they (the sales side that is) don't seem to pay much heed to requests from existing customers though. How hard can it be to spend 30 seconds writing me an email to say, "yes, a blanking plug is $45.53, send us your CC details and address and we'll mail you one"?  Still, it doesn't affect the workings!  :orange:

Does sound like you've got most of the battle won.  Sorry for not having seen this thread earlier.  There's just so much cra..... stuff that gets posted here that seeing everything is not a possibility.  Scanning thread titles for new threads means a somewhat generic title can get skipped over.  My bad....

No, my bad 2L - should have chosen a less generic title!  :drink:

Anyway, you aren't ever guilty of not replying when you can - so no way were you on my list of non-responders!  ;)

Jim;
Just look into this thread as well, I saw your comment on the PM to me for oil and I am sorry but I must have missed it. I try to respond to all inquiries. I don't want you to feel that I've ignored your request so if i can still answer an oil question let me know.
