Well I decided to spend some money on a new breather and velocity stack.I think it flows well with the theme of my SERK.I have a start to finish diary of pictures to follow. Let me know what you think. Later,Q

Its a Wimmer 90 degree Velocity Stack with billet breathers and the spike stack with purple element. I think it came out sweet and she now has a little more pep in her step as well. Later,Q

Don I looked into them but could not find one that would work with the lowers and glove boxes on. Some would work if you took the glove boxes out, but to me it looked funny sticking into the lowers.

Maybe someone found one that would work

Well Don to answer your questions, it came from Wimmer Machine,it coms in red and it definately adds more power. As for Brians dilemma with fitment, you can get different combos of angles on the velocity stack and you can spin the elbow and tighten it wherever you want.

I thought about that later after I wrote it, I think we would have to take lowers off, but dam it looks good I've been looking for something else I just don't like the stock cover.

Q...don't know how I missed this thread before. Man, that intake looks wicked as chit on your scooter. Your bike is really coming together with the lines of the wheels, the flames in the paint, and now this piece. Well thought out and classy looking

Sorry man, I never bought it. It was on for testing, but was removed when we went w/the 62 mm TB. It only works with stock style A/C mounting pattern on the TB. The 62 is too big for the stock pattern, so they had to design their own filter assembly for it.

Does anyone here know if the perormance is any different between the single spiked intake shown above and the SS tuned runner intake... and if you don't know for sure, what have you heard or think. And can you still put your feet up on top of the engine guard comfortabilly to use the factory footrest with either one ? I thnk I like the SS tuned runner if it helps with performance and you can still use the footrest. Hoist, you may know since you tested one.

The S&S is a true tuned port induction runner. It is not a ram air type intake. But the 2 ports of the runner are tuned to get the airflow into the TB evenly, and in a particular fashion. You have more room on the floorboards with it, and just ever so slightly lees room for the footrest on the Moustache Engine Guard. But for me, there was still plenty of room. I was very disappointed losing it on my build. But the correct TB was more important. The single type devices can't be considered as tuned runners because theres only one large inlet. It might help with turbulence of the airflow entering the TB. But to me, a single elbow will cause all of the air to hug the outside wall of the elbow. That would not allow the best profile of airflow to enter the TB. But you asked what we thought, not what we know. I've no factual data to prove or disprove that. Only my gut instinct and experience as an HVAC Engineer in working with air systems. Hope this helps you KD!
