Are you still running the stock backplate assembly?  If you are, the SE chrome backplate and assorted component parts is one option. There's a thread here called "Roll your own A/C" that has all the part numbers you need to put that together and save money in the process.  Doherty PowerPacc is another, but it comes with a bit wider filter.  I'm assuming you want to stick with the stock A/C cover, right?

I would recommend against the extended filter, my experience has been that they snap a lot of the standoffs and end up wearing on the plate in the center of the air cleaner and eventually this gives way.   I have had this happen 3 times.   The last one I caught before losing another Air Cleaner Cover.   The other 2 times I was not so lucky.

Any one know if K&N makes a stock replacement for use in the closed air box?

Yes, still have the stock back plate assembly.  I would like to keep the stock cover as well, it looked like I may not be able to do that according to the HD parts catalog, but good to know I can.  I found the Roll your own thread, and that was good info.  Easier solution than I thought.

Thanks for the help.

In that roll you own thread, there's a thick gasket mentioned to help with our style covers.  Get it.  It just gives the cover a bit more added stability.  I've had my stock cover on for 17K miles without issue.

I replaced my stock air cleaner {2007 springer} with a Zippers filter and use the stock cover.
