Yeah, 'er 'uh, 475wildey,
What is the lift and duration of those cams? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  I could look it up, but I know you have it at your fingertips. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Please advise.  How does your 124 run out?  Later--HUBBARD

WILDEY in a small bike the 124 will cut the mustard. Can't wait to see the numbers on that one.

You are correct on the duration. The lower duration is why the TQ number looks good. I am going to run a red shift 647 in mine when it goes back together.

Yep kinda been kickin myself on the cam choice i was thinking of running the 647's as well but ended up with the woods cams instead...which by the way are also fairly noisey...the red shifts probably would have lost some low end but iam thinking they would have made more peak hp and torque...

DC:

I noticed in your post, you are installing Feuling components. FYI...I had a set of their lifters in my SEEG and an axle failed...backed out and cut a nice groove in the lifter bore. I like their pump but with all the nice components you are installing do yourself a favor and run some Screamin Eagle lifters.

Actually they have made some mods to all fueling products. They had a problem a while back in quality control. Also this is what Zippers wants to put in the motor. You are not the first one to complain about fueling but this is the first I have heard about your problem. How did you repair the lifter bore?????

The groove was as smooth as if it were machined in, and not so large that it interferred with the lifter operation. My only other option was to pull the cases and try to fill the groove with aluminum rod and gring it to spec. I elected to rebuild and ran it that way for 18,000 miles. I have since sold the bike with an aftermarket performance engine warranty. Thankfully, after new lifters, new camshafts and another top end rebuild the bike ran as well as before. I remember asking myself why those lifters were so inexpensive. They came as a package deal with the oil pump. When I spoke to the guys at Feuling, they gave me some dough to help with the rebuild, and the guy whom I spoke with said they were have lifters manufactured for them. I'm sure you are right about the change in operations. This was right about the time Jim Feuling had passed on. Good Luck with it. I just thought fore-warned is fore-armed!

Next time they dyno your bike...have them set the smoothing to 5. Will eliminate the "spikey" lines in the graph. Some shops cut the smoothing even further (than 3) so the spikes give a higher max torque and hp number. Your motor actually made less than 125ftlbs. I'm still jealous though !
