Saddlebag Lid Rattle "HELP!!!!!!"
« on: March 06, 2012, 08:44:14 AM »

I have a 2011 CVO Street Glide. I'm having trouble with loose lids. They close very loosely and rattle. Overtime they appear to have loosened.

Got any ideas as to how to adjust?

I would check the spring in the hinge to ensure that they aren't broken, which is common.  Also check the seals in the lids to make sure that they are still in place

I would check the 5 little machined screws which hold the latch to the lid.

At the end of a ride this past summer I went to open my lid to only have it drop in my hand. I only found 1 of the 5 screws. It is also wise to keep checking those screws since they do come loose on there own. I used red (liquid) Loctite on mine and they seem to be holding for now.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll check them out and see if I've got a cure.
