Move floorboards and break peddle out more.
« on: April 10, 2014, 12:16:07 AM »

Ok so I have a bad leg and foot and need to figure out how to move the floorboards outword as well as the break peddle. Is this impossible or is there hope? I ride a 14 CVO Limited. By out I mean right to left not necessarily forward.

Call Rick at (208) 561-5031 - he is a great guy and will be able to take care of your needs.  I recently purchased a 1" extended pedal (wide version) along with 3/4" spacer kit to move both the brake pedal and floorboards out.  Terrific products.....

Not a CVO Limited but running 1" spacers under the floor board mounting for a 2011 Limited I find I touch down the support brackets under the floor boards frequently during hard cornering.  This is not desirable because the floor board brackets are a hard point and can lift a wheel off the road.  Just thought I'd mention the potential issue.  Considering taking the spacers out so floor board touches first but will miss the leg room.  I'll take a look at the link above and see if its mounted differently.

I will post a before pic and after so you can see what you think. There are no pictures on his site of a Limited with this done.

I have the Baker Custom, Inc 3/4" spacers on mine and will drag the outer edge of the floor board but have never hit the floorboard mount.  I also corner pretty hard but would almost be low siding the bike to hit the mount.  Is your bike lowered?

Here is what the new pedal and extenders look like when installed. I took it out yesterday and did not hit when cornering.

Very nice!  Maybe it is the picture but how did you get the brake pedal lowered. I was told by the dealer it was not splined so it wasn't adjustable.

I ordered a new brake pedal from softbrake.com. I think the guys name is Rick who owns the place. He makes a lot of custom parts to extend the floor boards and brake and shift levers.  if you get the new brake lever you have to put the floor board extenders on as well. so all in all I moved the floor boars out 1 inch and moved the brake pedal foreword 2 inches and down 1 inch. I have a bad ankle and was unable to hit the brake with out moving my leg a lot.

That brake pedal looks really close to the floorboard.  Should be easy to reach.   I went with the hd extended brake lever. That works well too. Not as low as yours  tho.

Yzernie do you have different turn signals on your bike then stock? It looks like you put led in.

Yzernie, I never got back to you on question about my brackets hitting.  Think my 2011 Limited frame and floorboards are similar to the newer CVO's but after installing the HD forward boards in addition to a 1" width spacer under the board brackets at frame mount, the brackets touch roadway before the edge of the hinged board.  I've never layed it over hard enough to lift a tire off the ground but have heard of that happening.  I'm probably going to try the boards again without the spacers and see if its unbearable. With my 35"-36" inseam I needed more leg room when I bought the bike.  Looking at the bright side, seat height is not an issue.

Thanks for the info on softbrake.com.  I didn't realize the HD extended pedal would make the pedal lower as well.  Good to know.  Did it drop the height at least 1"? Thanks in advance!
