New Seat
« on: April 27, 2005, 09:10:07 AM »

While I liked the stock seat on my FXDWG3 it had no back support , and at speed I felt like I was slipping off. I just received a Corbin gunfighter in grey Ostrich . It is narrower and firmer , but has nice support . The workmanship is excellent , they even made the flap to cover the back rest plug in match , which in previous models was black.

Time to put some mile in on it, I'm holding off on the backrest for now . I'll let you all know how it rides

I've put about 800 miles on the new seat , and it gets better every time out. It is hard at first and not as comfortable around town, but after about 20 mile it is a dream. I've gone for 2 rides of 3 to 4 hrs and it is wonderful .   On the freeway , I no longer feel like I'm getting blown off the back and can ride with more comfort and control.  The back support is good , and surprisingly because I'm not slipping backwards I don't have any problem with my feet slipping of the pegs either.   All in all theres more control and comfort.

As far as the Ostrich goes , looks cool , but it acts like velcro on your back side which has it's pluses and minuses.  I think I'd opt for a smoother finish if I was going to do it again.

Everyone loves the look though.

Several months ago we suffered a hacker's attack on this site.  As a result many older attachments were lost.  No intentional deletions though.  If Nidan sees this hopefully he'll still have the image to repost.

OK, that explains it, I was wondering where all of the older pictures were.

Hello,

Is this your picture. I have been trying to identify it. I finnally reached someone at Corbin who helped me design one for my FXDWG3. Thanks for the picture if it is yours. It was a big help.
