Post by: Gandrtravis on April 16, 2018, 11:10:11 AM
Just curious there is a lot of performance bikes here wondering if anyone has hit the strip? If so what do you have for a bike and mods what was your 60’ and 1/4 times ?

You do realize this is a Harley Davidson Forum.  You should be asking how many speakers can I stick in every crevice so I can play AC/DC loud enough to overcome the clatter of the lifters.  Carry on.

 ;D

Some here have no doubt run 1/4 mile for time.  Have been to all Harley drags, fun stuff.  Lots here concentrate on other add on stuff, but there are some motor heads among us.  8)

Only 1/8th mile around here. But I'm getting the itch more and more lol. It's the MAIN thing  I miss about my sport bike. But I'm also a little worried about getting too aggressive with a stock crank and 117".

My 09 has went low 11's with a soft launch.  I know of a few baggers in the low 10's and high 9's.  Look up Detroit bagger grudge racing.  Problem is the grudge racers don't like to talk times.  I will take a deserved butt whipping for saying this.  But Harley tech talk forum has a members at the track section that probably has what you are looking for.

I would think that the launch would be key to your timing. What is the best way to come out of the hole fast? Do you rev to XX RPMs then dump the clutch or do you do a "normal" launch then hammer the throttle?

Never hit the track but I always rev to the point it won’t stall when the clutch is dumped but doesn’t spin to much I found around 3000-3500 works good for me I want to hit the track for fun one day I know Harley’s are not that fast generally but it’s still fun to race.

A quality tuner like the TTS you can remove the speed governor, and raise the rpm.  They will go faster then 107 mph once removed.  I have the same bike.
