Title: NC. a week later.
Post by: 70_GTX on May 14, 2005, 11:18:38 PM
I couldn't make the CVO meeting but had planned to go the next week. We rode the parkway from route 151 to Mt.Mitchell. Went to the NASCAR garages in Mooresville. Visited the Biltmore. Also made Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Last but not least was the Dragon at Deal's Gap. Our trip covered 1832 miles. Only one bad rain storm with a little hail in it at the end of a day's riding near Asheville. The last day coming home, we had two rains and was fairly cold. All in all a really nice trip.

Route 151 was a very narrow switchback up to the parkway. Some shots on the parkway.

Now have seen a pumpkin with a paint to match n-line trailer, this picture of a green one and Mike in Texas has got to be getting his red one back pretty soon.  Those look great.

Having seen a few up close now I really like that N-line trailer.  Huge inside.  I actually think they'd look even better if the rear wheel was positioned such that it ran inside the body of the trailer about half of it's diameter.  I know you'd lose some cargo space for the tunnel it would require.  But not that much.  In any case it's a good looking rig though.  Glad you had such a great trip  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

We were gone eight days. Unigo makes a one wheel trailer that hides the rear wheel. The trip came up so fast that I didn't have time to put the pinstripes on yet. It's back at the painter now to have them put on. The thing pulled like a champ, I hardly knew it was there. The wife loves it.

Deal's Gap was a fun place to visit, the motorcycle parts hanging from the tree was comical but sobering.

When we were at the base of Chimney Rock, I saw a red SEEG going through town. Was that any of you out there ? That was Saturday the 7th.

That photo on the Dragon is SWEET!  Looks good enough to be in some H-D literature or something.  Thanks for posting photos of what the place looks like when the sun is out.

Thanks for the heads up on that trailer manufacturer.  Was a name I'd not seen before.  Time to do a little homework now....

70_GTX.

Nice package...if I may be so bold as to ask...

Without the paint job, trailer cost?

In addition, is there a web site to the mfr?

Thanks,

Jock

70_GTX, I was there the week after the GTG also, I'll take cool and sunny over rain and anything any day. The only other SEEG I saw was a B/B with Texas plates on main street of Gatlinburg Monday the 2nd. He had a welcoming committe waiting for him to come out from breakfast, I wonder how much that parking spot cost? The best road we had was  Wayah Bald rd. from 19 to Franklin very nice and NO crocth rockets. Hope your rides were as good as ours.

You've already been given the website and they have the cost broke down pretty good there. The guy I talked to was very cooperative and delivered on every promise.

I saw two SEEG's on the whole trip. The red one at Chimney Rock and a black and orange at the Harley dealer in Statesville,N.C. I think a mechanic was riding it into the shop. We did have some great riding weather that week.
