Nothing really jumps out at me to want to consider selling my 09 O/B and having to start all over again customizing it and imo for what dealers lowball you on trades and the way things are selling these days, I'll enjoy mine, at least it's paid for! :2vrolijk_21:

I bet it actually looks really good in person. Just depends on how much the white "pops" in the sunlight.

Nice but have to agree.

I like the blacked out motors

The same as in years past.....the MoCo pictures never do them justice. I'm thinking this bike will definately look better in person.
-
Seen the Skunk at Finks HD this afternoon. Nice features like ... Blackened motor, heavy breather, 2 piece seat with some
nice stiching, not crazy about the blackened out hand controls with black buttons...like the stock versions but on black
bars. the mirrors are oval and dont do anything IMO. But all in all nice work and the paint job ghost flames are pretty slick.

Got that right, but, I don't need another bagger for sure. :nervous: har. spyder

Well, like I mentioned in other posts;
1. Skulls - uck!
2. Blackout - okay
3. RG remains in CVO stable - Great!
4. Colors - probably much better in person.
5. 400w Amp w/Saddlebag speakers like CVO Street Glide - MISSING!
Would make a nice bar hopper for sure.

Blacking everything out must be HD's answer to peeling chrome..... ;)

I'm really disappointed that they didn't do everything to the SERGC that they did to the SESG...having the speakers and lowers on the SERGC would really have had me thinking about getting rid of the SESG... None of the new 2012 does anything for me. Never have been into skulls.

Like you, I really don't get the skull emblem on a screamin' eagle CVO. Where's the bird? The design team must have been part of the downsizing at corporate. :confused5: spyder

X2, look great especially with these paint schemes :pepper:

X2 there spyder,
It floors me that on a particular bike, the MoCo can both hit a home run and totally miss including an important functional or design cue I.E missing eagle on the SERGs or creating yet another designation FLTR(X)SE instead of FLTRSE4. The bikes resemble the 09 SERG more than the RGC.
And what imbecile(s) decided to throw the skulls on? The good thing here is that you can easily remedy that with a heat gun and fishing line...then pop on the Eagle tank emblem from the SESG.

I don't care for skulls at all...expecially that design. And like Spyder says....where the heck is the Eagle? :nixweiss:

I see in other photos, the same skull emblem is in the center of the front fairing also.... :(

Great idea, except they're prolly gonna make it hard to obtain that screamin' eagle tank emblem from another bike due to 'protected parts'. :-\ spyder
-
i kinda like the skull thing :nixweiss: its something different then the same old CVO RG theme but no way i'm trading up to a 110"

Spydglide,
Parts are NOT restricted. I just called my local dealer and the parts guy thought the same as you but after looking them up found they weren't but were pretty expensive at $85.62 each!
I just ordered two from Zanotti @ $51.15 apiece
PN: 62780-11 and 62781-11

I like Kunk ;D The black and white is nice too.

X2!
I like that they are taking chances. The eagle is too predictable. Of course, skulls aren't too far off but hey, they're at least breaking the mold of putting eagles on all screaming eagles packages.

You have a point. These bikes really haven't been Screamin' Eagle bikes for some years. The MoCo has been putting more emphasis on "CVO" than anything else. I can't fathom why they even keep the "SE" in the designation...it should really be FLTRXCVO.
It's just the Screamin' Eagle 110 motor that bears the moniker...and really, what on a 110" is different than a stock 103"? Heads, cams...crank/pistons? Of those, what do we keep when doing an engin rebuild?...just the heads in many cases.
-
I join the anti-skull crowd!!! It is a Screamin Eagle NOT a Screamin Skull.
I like the blacked out motor and other stuff but again in my .02 opinion they stopped too soon.....should have a black exhaust, engine guard and fork lowers and maybe some other items too.

Is it really though? They've been called CVO's for years. They merely use Screaming Eagle components. There are several bikes in past years (my 2009 Springer included) that have no Screaming Eagle emblem on them.

Tried to find the listing for a screamin eagle road glide on the HD site, but they all said CVO? Maybe I'm missing something? :nervous:
-
any HD model designation with SE is considered a screamin eagle

but both CVO and SE are marketing ploys to get us to spend money

With 210 post here I guess that qualifies you as an expert on Screamin Eagles CVO's?
They have been called Screamin Eagles since 2000.
When asked what kind of bike do you have, most people say I have a Screamin Eagle.
Try buying a Screamin Eagle paint set.
Finally, look in NADA or KBB for a 2000 or later CVO, not there.
No Eagle painted on the bike above, but NADA has it listed as a Screamin Eagle.

Really? You didn't have to be a jerk to a fellow member, regardless of how superior your posting frequency is to mine. But, I suggest you actually look at the KBB listings - these bikes were listed as Screaming Eagles from 2000 - 2008 on the KBB. In 2009 and to date, they are now listed at CVOs. Also, look at Harley's website. Years ago, they did refer to them as Screaming Eagles. Now, they don't refer to their own bikes as Screaming Eagle anymore; it's called CVO. Therefore, they are no longer referred to as Screaming Eagles by KBB or more importantly, the maker of the bikes. So, we can see that there's some ambiguity in what Harley and its riders call these bikes. All I said is that they are no longer exclusively referred to as Screaming Eagles...but, what do I know, I have only posted a few hundred times, right? Thanks for the sense of community.

Screamin Eagle's are CVO's, just like Mustangs are Fords or Camaro's are Chevrolet's.
Call yours what you please, mine are Screamin Eagle's.
And besides KBB can't even spell softail correctly.

The official designation is 2011 FLTRUSE Road Glide Custom - not 2011 FLTRUSKULL Road Glide Custom - and not 2011 FLTRUCVO Road Glide Custom...
:)
But it wouldn't matter to me what they call it...I don't like skulls on bikes regardless of the name of the bike...especially the pathetic MOCO skull...
-
CVO started in 1999 with the FXR2 not a screamin eagle bike, HD first called a CVO an SE in 2000 with the FLTRSEI. they have used the names interchangeably since then
-
I think they just 'cheaped-out' in the design....they've been using the skull emblem throughout their line of clothing as well as bikes and parts for some years now. I guess they are trying to appeal to those who do like skulls. Not that there's anything wrong with that. ??? har. spyder
-
Regardless of if you like skulls or not...at least they are easily removable and not painted on :2vrolijk_21:
-
I gotta say that skull thing stinks!!!!!
-
I'd like to see the Doberman (maple metalflake/black) up close but have a feeling at the end of the day it's a brown and black 30plus grand new car smell.
Guess I'll make do with the O/B 3.

Not a duplicate but sure has a lot of errors in the article. Hard to believe they actually took a test ride.
