SoCal CVO newbie checking in.
« on: July 06, 2015, 04:12:36 PM »

Hey folks. This is mostly a re-post from the RGU forum, I apologize for my manners and should have stopped in to say hello first. :)

Anyway, it goes something like this: I was heading out to ride with my female ;) yesterday on my 2005 Heritage. I bought the bike new, it was a great bike and treated me well over the years. Anyway, the day started with a pinched tube and a prompt flat tire (which was brand new, we know who pinched it right?). Called my buddy and we pulled the back wheel off and took it to the dealer... new liner, new tube and a four our ordeal and I'm ready to ride again. We take off for Big Bear Lake and the thing starts spitting out codes and check engine lights along with some oil. Well I'd been thinking of a newer, more comfy ride so yeah. I made the jump to a new 2015 FLTRUSE. Looking forward to another 11 years, the bike is a heck of an upgrade over the softail. Of course, as chromed out as it already is, I started finding stuff that could use a personal touch or two.

Anyway, the real name is Lance and I'm glad to meet you and look forward to getting to know you. I'm from SoCal in the high desert (Victorville) area.

Congratulations on your new CVO RGU and welcome to the site from The Lowcountry of South Carolina!
I hope this may be of interest to you.
Attending a GTG is the best way to get to know the members and put a face to those screen names. Many a lasting friendship have come out of these GTG's,
So. if you want to meet people, ride some awesome roads, kick back and have fun, come to one or all of the GTG's. ( For the newbies out there, GTG = Get Together )
Make your plans now and avoid the rush. In other words, stop pondering and get a hankering and make reservations and attend.
See ya'll there.
The GTG's are in the event section of the board.
The next West Coast GTG is being planned now just click on the link.

Hey, ACFixer!
Welcome aboard and glad to have you with us!
Your bike looks strangely familiar!
Good choice and congrats on the upgrade.  I said goodbye to a Heritage as well, and I ain't looking back!  Love that softail, but love the new RGU a whole lots more!

Welcome Lance,

A couple of weeks ago Greg, John, and I passed through Victorville on our way back from the Colorado GTG. Is that the SERGU that was sitting on the show room floor?

Congrats and welcome!

Thank everyone! Yeah the softie served me well and it will be missed... but every dog has it's day and it's time for someone else to enjoy it. I hope someone gets a another solid 11 years of safe riding. I went across the country and back on that bike as well as pretty much everywhere else, a lot of memories but in the end it's just a thing. I was 42 when I got it and I'm 53 now so it's time to make new memories on something a little easier on my bones.  :2vrolijk_21:

That was probably it Mark! Yeah Dennis has been trying to sell me a bagger for 10 years and he finally succeeded. Really good guy to work with if they have the bike you want, their selection is a bit limited compared to the LA stores but I'm a big believer in keeping the money local if at all possible so we made it happen.
