We had our dealership test ride a customers Freewheeler and it was in a very minor wreck which needed a new fender  The owner was notified and they replaced the whole bike no questions asked.

The night I picked up Lucille one of the shop dudes was putting the bikes up for the evening and was clutch walking a new streetglide. It got away from him and then went down and dominoed a row of brand new dressers which were lined up nicely. Poor bugger I felt sorry for him cleaning up 5 or 6 bikes. He did offer to help me wheel Lucille out when we were heading off but I passed. Haven't seen him there since?

Cheers Tom

Dealer was taking mine on a test ride and before they could get out of the parking lot a a guy driving a car backed up into my bike at the red light. It destroyed the fender and front tire. Said it would take 6-8 weeks to get a new fender in so the put on a loaner fender so I could still ride. New fender came in right at 6 days!!  :mango:

They all go down. Maybe it was good to get that out of the way so soon and not on your dime either, could be you got a lucky bike now - maybe it's fate for ya.

Check the lower area of the front fender, it usually gets scratched when the bike goes down. Happened to me at the dealer and they didn't report it. My buddy noticed it when he dropped me off to pick it up. Dealer got me a new fender.

Never an excuse to drop a bike, should not happen if done right. Sloppy handling causes this.

Never dropped my kids on their head either, but then again maybe my parents did.

At least you were there and witnessed it happen, glad it is working out for you!

A co-worker took a call from the police about an accident that his car had been in (his car was at the shop for service).  The service tech had rear-ended another car while doing a test drive.  After he dealt with the PD, he called the dealer.  He asked when his car would be ready for pick-up.  They said um, well, you see; we had a bit of a problem....the mechanic dropped a wrench on the front bumper and chipped the paint, so we are doing a touch-up for you.  Can you pick up the car tomorrow instead of today?  He absolutely went ballistic on the guy (I don't blame him).  It took an Attorney General complaint, a Corporate complaint and a lawsuit to finally settle the whole mess.

Sorry to hear this happened but glad it all worked out.  Mistakes happen and isn't done on purpose. In situations like this it doesn't pay to blow up especially since the dealer took care of this from the start.  Just curious since the damage was engine guards etc. that were damaged why couldn't you still ride the bike while waiting for parts?  The handle bars could have been tightened right away.

Yep. & Also to mention this happens a lot more often than you know. When you move so many bikes, it's bound to happen occasionally.
