Switching over to IPoD Lightning canle

I have a 2012 with the older style iPod cable.  Is it possible to get the newer style plug and just replace the cable in the saddle bag?

Go to Walmart and get a $20 plug to convert the large plug to special Apple one. Very simple.

I have the converter that allows me to go from the lightning to the 30 pin, but wondering if there is  a cable replacement out there that is the lightning vs. the adapter.  I hate to handle the cable it seems if you look at that 30 pin clip harley supplies that it will just fall apart.  I have replaced 2 of them so far and know another is in the future.

With very little acumen as to the wizardry of the I-pod, and quite frankly, the whole of the Hi-Tech world we live in, I am quite pleased with the system on Ol' Maybelle.  No problems, whatsoever, (knock on my head), thus far.  And, it's comforting to know that if I do have a problem with it, I can call Harry for instruction.  No worries!  It's been my experience in life's  sometimes difficult situations, it's not what you know, but WHO you know.  There endeth the lesson.  Later--HUBBARD
