Bluetooth Fm transmitter
« on: July 17, 2018, 12:49:33 PM »

Anyone using one of these? Was thinking about trying one instead of changing out the head deck. Inline sux due to engine whine. Just need cigarette lighter to plug into. Wondering if I could use the wiring in the trunk (trunk light) and replace the light with a cig female. Is the light 12 volt?

It would be  12v .

I did use one for a bit , worked not to bad . I moved on to plugging my phone into the aux 1.3 jack  on the head deck I found it worked much better.

When I still had my stock HU, I used a very small Bluetooth adapter (about 3/4” X 1.5”) it plugged directly into the aux input and connected with my iPhone...it was cheap and worked quite well.  This is the one I used.  I gave it to my sister when I swapped HU or I’d send it to you.

Same one that I used when I had the OEM head unit. It worked great ended up giving it to buddy when I went to an aftermarket radio.

if you use one like this, i would recommend swapping out the small metal plug for a cable.  having the 'box' hang on the plug can put a lot of stress on the aux input of the hk deck.  not saying you 'will' have problems doing it this way, but you 'could'.  why take the chance?

(and yes, i have one like that as well.  only i keep mine in the fairing compartment and run a cable up to the aux input)
