Excuse my ignorance. I had never heard of Ultima before, just jumped in and assumed it was a twincam replacement.

Got a buddy with one in a 2005'ish chopper. That thing has had every problem a motor could have. At first they warrantied it for him, then that stopped after it needed second warranty on same items (one was a crooked, yes crooked, crankshaft). Maybe better now?

Also have a mate that had an Ultima - spent so much time getting it fixed he ended up putting and S&S in.

I have had good luck with their TC heads.  They take some work but for the starting price of bare heads.  Hard to beat.

True. Their heads are a decent starting point. With some port work and a good valve job they're as good as anything
else out there.

Does this motor even connect to a 6 speed cruise drive bagger?

Doesn't sound like it, As I explained in the follow up post. I had never heard of Ultima, when I saw the advert I presumed it was a direct fit, as say the S&S motor. Seems like I sold you all a bum steer, unintentionally. So apologies all round.
JohnT.

Anyway, I am at 42kmiles, just about to fit the fourth set of lifters. First set replaced as a precaution at about 15k. Second set replaced at about 30k because they failed and took out the cam and pump. so now replacing as a precaution at the 42k mark. Had a rebore around 20+k because it was drinking oil, now it's just started to sip oil again. This time it will get a glaze bust and rings. If I didn't like it so much I'd get rid, plus the missus wouldn't ride on anything else and I ain't buying another and I know who the boss is.
