Congrats to Matt Guidera for his NHRA PSM Win in Gainseville against Andrew Hines this afternoon! :drink:

He caught Andrew asleep at the light! :o

Matt ran in the sixes all afternoon! :2vrolijk_21:

NHRA gave V-Rods and Buells a 10 lb handicap. 720 lbs vs 710 lbs for Suzukis. ???

But is nice to hear the V-Twin rumbling down the track, round after round, and winning these days!!! :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

That was an awesome run, Congrats to Matt.  Maybe Andrew was trying not to redlight, he mentioned wanting to have a little longer RT as he nailed the previous run  dead on.

I watched a couple rounds of the races Sunday and was surprised at how many folks have jumped brands. To see Chip Eillis go to Suzuki was odd. Angelle Sampey on a Harley. Antron Brown in a Funny Car. What else did I miss?

S&S' Press Release:

LA CROSSE, WI (March 17, 2008) S&S® Cycle announces a great weekend of NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Racing at the Gatornationals.

The season opener of the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle racing season was packed full of S&S 160ci Billet Pro Stock powered machines in the finals. A total of eight S&S powered Buells went to the eliminations on Sunday morning, with five moving onto the second round of eliminations.

The talk of the weekend had to be Matt Guidera and his Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports S&S powered Buell. Not only did Guidera score as top qualifier, he made the most of his time on the track with passes at 7.000, 6.922, 6.955, 6.944, 6.943 and 6.949! His well-tuned bike netted him the win over Andrew Hines on the Screamin’ Eagle H-D in the final round.

"This is a great season start, for the first time in NHRA history half of the elimination field was S&S powered. With bad weather on Friday creating a minimum number of qualifying runs, the results were great. All of the teams show great promise going to Houston. Congratulations to Matt Guidera on his win and Matt Smith on his riding through the weekend. Expect to see S&S powered bikes in the hunt all season long" said Charlie Hadayia, S&S Sr. Manager of Customer Relations and Race.

Throughout the weekend, it seemed like S&S powered bikes were everywhere. Chris Rivas, on the Drag Specialties/S&S/G Squared Motorsports bike fought some electrical gremlins but still won a few rounds. Angelle Sampey on the Rush Racing Products S&S powered Buell—her first race on the v-twin—won her first round of eliminations. Angie McBride on her S&S powered Buell also scored a first round win. Hector Arana made it to eliminations on his Lucas Oil S&S powered Buell, but met up with Guidera’s 6.955 pass and went out early. The Vroom Racing S&S powered Buell, ridden by Michael Ray also made it to the first round of eliminations, but didn’t make it to the second round. It was the same thing for Junior Pippin on his Stone Mountain H-D/Granite Mountain H-D/Piranha S&S powered Buell. Matt Smith, 2007 champion, and his NitroFish/Torco S&S powered Buell made it to the third round of eliminations for a good start to his season. Find out more S&S information at www.sscycle.com
