So I'm sitting here thinking about lowering the SERK but obviously concerned with the reduced ground clearance for cornering, when I wonder if the SE is lower to begin with. So I go onto the H-D website to look at the specs between the SERK and the standard and classic FLHR. While the SERK seat height is listed as being 2 inches lower than the FLHR/FLHRC (27.5 for the SERK vs 29.5 for the FLHRC), the ground clearance is lower on the FLHRC than the SERK (5.1 on the FLHRC, 5.5 on the SE)... The seat profiles don't look that different, so why would the SE have a 2" lower seat height but almost a half inch more ground clearance?
Also, for those who have lowered the bike an inch (front and rear), how badly has it affected handling/cornering? This is my first bagger, so lean angle has never been an issue for me before. I have very thin chicken strips on mu Buell XB12 as well as on my VRSCSE2, so I am an agressive rider. I know I have to tone things down on the RK due to reduced lean angle, but don't want to have to crawl through the canyons or foot it when making a U-turn...
