Haze In The House !!
« on: September 09, 2005, 12:03:36 PM »

Took delivery of my Autumn Haze yesterday. What an awesome ride ! Stereo is great and the ride/handling is much better than I expected. I'm attaching pics so I don't get flamed. The Haze is more of what I would call Champagne in color. Definitely not as dark as the 03 SERK. I realize color is a personal choice, and, as I said, I liked all the color schemes, but, needless to say I'm happy with my choice.  [smiley=1syellow1.gif]  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

That looks so much different than what HD has on the website and in the brochures,  it looks nice in your pics almost a silver.

Congrats on the new scoot.  Good photos and the bike color looks good from here.  Very nice.  Good contrast to the black leather tour pak and black leather seat.  I like it.  Would be nice to see that one and the black and gray in person.  I saw the green already and passed.  No offense to those who got the green  intended in anyway, color is such a personal choice.  Bottom line they are nice bikes no matter what color they are.

That really looks good.  It is more of a champagne than tan. Congrats and good luck with the new scooter. So, what are you going to do to it first?  When I first saw the padded dash, I didn't like it cause I didn't want to give up my windshield pouch, but from the pictures, I think it will still fit.   [smiley=laugh.gif]

Great looking bike.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] I see that the motor company got cheap on the fairing lowers again with the solid color. The 04 SEEG's had a pinstripe and two colors while the 05's and now the 06's were left alone.

Thanks for all the replies, guys. Now I really want to see the Crimson & Charcoal when somebody gets one. I think it's gonna be sharp, too.

Twolane -- that triangular piece is actually part of the chrome trim above the tach & speedo -- non-functional.

So far the only PITA is that you can only lock ignition in "Fork Lock" or ACC position. I'm used to just locking the switch and walking away most of the time.

Thanks again -- I'm really looking forward to gettin good scoop on these boards.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Great looking bike.  I have one in this coloc on order that is supposed to be here in 3-4 weeks.  Great to see they are shipping them.

I want to put a MOCO GPS on the bike, but I think that leather dash doohickie is in the way.  If it is, what is the use of the NAV button on the radio?  Since I haven't seen one in the flesh, I'm not sure.  Any thoughts?

Hope I don't get flamed for mucking up a nice ride with geezer stuff. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Great looking ride.

Don, that's just a chrome piece that fills that area up and yes, it is a part of the leather dash pad.

Congrats on the new bike, KXL - can't wait for mine to arrive (next April they say!!!)

Pics are great too - but they have me even MORE puzzled about what colour the 'haze really is!!  Sand? Silver? Champagne? Grey? Beige? every pic you see makes it look totally different!

The NAV button on the radio is for a yet to be released add-on Navigation system, probably similiar to the bluetooth and XM setup (though XM comes on the SE).

Another possibility on the NAV would be to integrate the Audio portion of the proposed HD GPS unit into the bike's audio speakers/headset.

I'd like to see something like KXL said, have a regular GPS (or the overpriced HD GPS) and be able to integrate the audio in, so it would break into the music playing to tell about an upcoming turn.

Really like the placement as I can rest heal on floorboard and upper foot/toes on pegs

Saw the autumn haze for the first time Saturday.  Does it change color in the sun like the SEEGs?  It was outside and it was raining on Saturday.  Nice looking machine!  I also noticed the different exhaust on the rear.

Thanks on the compliment on color of dash and bike.

I had the chrome caps changed from stock black to chrome, I just like the look
HD Part # 71802-03  $23.95 list price

I had the Legend Air Ride system installed and that switch I can contol the ride heighth of the bike with Legend Air shocks. I didn't want that ugly gauge that Legends has you bolt to the motor. My dealership is trying to secure a switch that can be covered in rubber simular to the trip odmeter reset button. Bike rides great as now I can get on and off easier and then tweak the ride heighth. Can adust ride heighth about 3" or so.

Thanks Loose_Goose, I am a former Cheesehead as I lived in Oshkosh, WI for 6 years

I have heard very good comments from the board on Freedom exhaust and I talked with Brad at Freedom Cycles and he is really excited as he wants to do a 2006 SE 103, leave tomorrow morning and will ride through Lake Tahoe on the way to Reno. My 06 SE should have about 700 miles when I turn the SE over to Brad and his crew.

Jeff, you won't be disapointed!! Brad is a great guy and really cares about what he does. He will give your bike all of the attention it deserves and probably more. Be sure to post your sheet when he gets it done.

By the way, that color is pretty impressive, can ya post more picks?

Graham,

I will take a few more pics on Friday, for you.

My last 3 bikes have been RoadKings and I have to say this new FLHTCUSE is now my favorite bike, it rides so sweetl and does really well in the Mtns and such.

Really you can't go wrong with any of HD's touring bikes but if you get a bike with a 103 motor I am afraid you will never want another 88 motor.

Hi Graham - I'm in the same position as you, none to see here in the UK. I've got an Autumn Haze on order too - dealer reckons April for delivery.  Do you actually have one on order, or are you just intending to order one?  Which Dealership?

I'm going to be interested to see what we actually get in the UK as regards the headlamp, since the dual refelctor one is not CE approved, and of course we won't get the XM satellite radio or the garage door opener!

i would like to thank you guys for all your replies..... mr magoo consider the pics on their way....jeffj i look forward  to some more photos of your autumn haze thanx for taking the time and trouble i appreciate it...... jim if nothing else at least we should be ready for the riding season by april it doesn't make me feel any better and st tropez is now a very distant memory that was truly out there i thought there might be a few changes to the haze as the small print in the brochure states items vary shame really i really fancied playing castles and drawbridges with the garage door i will be interested to see whats going to happen to the front fender as EU rules stopped us from having a clean fender on the road king custom and any little chromie bits will kill the paint job stone dead

jim... your right about the 2 per dealer i have heard the same, and when it comes to it i think like all before us will be wishing the time away. between now and then the dealer will get tired of me asking any news yet, about the difference between stock and an upgrade my road king custom was 88 so my dealer put a 1550 stage two in and the difference....just dont want to put the bike away, the dealership is www.shawharley-davidson.co.uk not as large as dockgate 20,surrey,oxford,or stadium but it has won the dealership of the year 2 years running something of an achievment in its self considering this is only its 3rd year    graham

Yes, mine is allegedly due to arrive in April - time will tell! !550 is good, but the 103 (stage 1 dynoed at 103HP is the one I've ridden) is unbelievable!  :-)

I ordered by Autumn Haze back in September.  The Dealer said he had a delivery date of December.  I have waited impatiently for December 1 to roll around.  Called the Dealer today to see when the bike will get here.  They said it should be here in a couple of weeks.  Merry Christmas to me!  I gotta get the wife something nice for the bike.
