HawgWired verses Stock Radio Decible results
« on: May 26, 2009, 06:22:25 PM »

I just got finished installing a HAWG-WIRED PSC3004 300W Amp, CX504 and RX504 Speakers. :jalapeno: :apple: I performed sound pressure readings before and after the install so I thought I would post it for all who might want to know.
All tests were performed with CD's not mp3's and this is why my music selection was not the best. I tried to use the best volume setting for each song without distortion. Basically I had 14 bars on my screen out of the maximum of 17.
I completed 3 tests on my SERG, 1) Stock HD 2ch, 2) HW 2ch, 3) HW 4ch.

This might be a silly question but where are the other speakers ???? and it looks like you have 3 amps. I come from a 12v radio background so...lots of amps for just 2 speakers ??

The larger amp is 75w by 2ch, and the smaller amps are 75w satalites that are powered by the larger amp. I have a tour pack with speakers that I am installing but am still waiting on the mounting hardware. these amps are great because the have built in freq control and gain.

that would normally not be the right way to do that but i guess it has something to do with the radio output ? Input into amps is at a very low voltage (4 volts max) otherwise you will overload the input circuits of the amp......but if that the way they told you to do it, I would guess thats why.  :confused5:
