Contrast and Compare the Fullsac and Rinehart True Dual?
« on: June 20, 2011, 03:31:17 PM »

A buddy was asking my opinion about the V&H true duals with RC mufflers on his 2011 SERG. I would like to know how they compare in cost and performance to the Fullsac system that many of you are running? When you talk about the cores 1.75/2.0 ect. are those the baffles in the mufflers that come with the header pipes?

Of course he will be doing a SERT and dyno tune at the dealer. He is a lot like me and likes good power but he is over the loud showy stuff. The dealer offered him the V&H Propipe as an option but we both like dual mufflers on the baggers. I have that pipe on my SEDFB and like it but it is to loud IMHO for the SERG.

Sorry my bad I was meaning the Rinehart system. :confused5:

Thread bump and correction. I meant to compare the Rinehart system, heck I don't know if V&H has a dual for the bagger. :-[

My Opinion: At $1000 for the whole Rinehart system, you can definitely save money with the Fullsac.  Personally, I don't care for the look of the header pipe on the Rinehart TD...kinda defeats the purpose of having TD's on the bike to have the rear pipe still on the right side.  I can't speak to the noise level, but listened to a Utube video of the RH and they seem a bit loud for my tastes.  I have not seen a Dyno chart to compare the two, but if history holds true, with TD's you gnerally lose some on the low end and gain it on the high end (TQ/HP).  So, with the RH system, SERT, and Dyno time, he's going to have at least $1600 in it, not counting labor if he is having the dealer install the pipes.

Fullsac Xpipe, 1.75" cores for mufflers, and TTS Mastertune w/necessary cables to "talk" to the ECM...< $1100 for the parts, and TTS map from Fullsac, which, IMO, eliminates the need for Dyno time.  Install is easy, maintains the stock look, reduces the heat (eliminates the Cat), runs strong, sounds good.  If you have ANY mechanical ability, and a laptop computer, you can do it all yourself.  If not, any independent shop could do this, or talk to Steve at Fullsac and see if there is someone local that he can recommend to do the work.  Of course, I like the look of the stock mufflers, so all bets are off if he doesn't.  With the Fullsac, you reuse the stock muffler cans and all heat shields...everything fits perfectly.

I did this to my SERGU, with the 2" cores, and couldn't be happier with the results.  Barks a little when I want it to, but not loud at cruising speeds.  The 1.75" cores would be slightly quieter, but still sound "like a Harley".  A LOT of folks are running this system with excellent results.

Yes, V&H does make a set of true duals for current baggers, but again, they are going to be in the same price range as the RH's, at least.

We both like the stock look so the Fullsac sounds good and I thought there may be a cost savings. He will having the dealer doing all the work so there is quite a bit of labor charge and he may have to use the SERT. I am not sure if the dealer in our area has worked with the Fullsac system. Steve if you are reading you should approach Dave at Smoky Mountain HD and get him sold on your product. If you can it might be good for the pocket book. :2vrolijk_21: Those guys do a ton of service in the area. They are the go to shop in the East TN area.

Do true duals run hotter or feel hotter than the x-pipe? I heard they did but could see no reason for it.

I have the RH TD's and they do not feel hot at all when riding.  The fullsac are probably the same way.

Just installed the Full sac x-pipe, 2.25 inch cores and the TTS master tune on my 11 CVO glide and it is just what was needed. sounds great and easy to do. great craftmanship as well.

To compare i has an 07 glide w a 103in kit w stage 2 mods and Rinhart true duals, the sound is comparable IMHO. the 110 is definately as load, just a deep throaty sound, compared to the RH's.

you will be happy. and if you have any issues...Fullsac is awesome to deal with if you need any help.

I just did the Fullsac x-Pipe, 2" Cores and TTS Master tune...Wow, What a difference. No more oven on the right leg from the Cat and the tune installed flawlessly.
