Headlight Adjustment?
« on: September 19, 2016, 09:02:26 AM »

Hey guys, I have a 2015 FLTRUSE that I need to find out if you can adjust the headlight. While I was in Sturgis I had a pair of lowering shocks installed and now the headlight is too high.
Thanks in advance!

Yes you can.  Look underneath the front of the bike under the headlight.   It will be behind the bottom of the fairing.   Easy to turn.

Rich,

You can check your owners' manual, pages 171-3.

Mine and others seemed very low from the factory.  Owners manual describes adjustment.  The screw is easily assessable without fairing removal from underneath.  Not an official procedure but basically adjusted mine where at about 25 feet from a wall on level ground the top of the low beam pattern is roughly at the floor height of the center of headlight.  This insures it has a slight downward angle.  It will take several turns of screw to move the adjustment. This adjustment is slightly higher than the official adjustment procedure.  Others have posted an official adjustment setting as well as owner manual.

Idea is to get it high enough to be seen 100 ft or more out and be able to see the road ahead without blinding oncoming drivers or those in front of you.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Truth be told I didn't even think about this being in the owners manual.    Thought it would only be in the shop manual. I will adjust these when I get home tonight. I felt sorry for the people around me this morning going into work.
