Again, NOT on my CVO but with a fellow CVO'er...rode up to the foothills yesterday, enjoyed a nice catfish dinner at Huck Finns and then the long way home.  We didn't put many miles (around 150) but it was a great day to be out and riding.  Low humidity, not a cloud in the sky and great company.

We did stop at SMHD (first time I've been in a HD dealer in way over a year) and while there was quite a bit of traffic, I never heard the bell ring (they ring the bell, toot horns and such when someone purchases a bike).  Not hearing the bell was very different.  They had two 2020 CVO's and a few used CVO's and lots of 2020's of various models.  Still, with all that foot traffic, youdathunk they would have sold something with a motor instead of just t-shirts...well, also a pair of boots that Vickie really liked  :2vrolijk_21:

Ran out of gas on the 13 CVO King yesterday morning leaving home.  Range said I had 38 miles left.  Gas station in town is 20 miles from home.  At 18.5 miles  from home I was out of gas.  Not happy at all about that, I'll never believe the range on this bike again for sure.  3rd time in my life running out of gas, second time on this bike, happened in 14 same thing range lied and I forgot about it.   Good ride after that about 80 miles doing errands.

Will be riding it again today for some errands and an appointment.

Sold it! Well, one of them anyway, the 13 Ultra CVO is gone. Did not get what it might be worth but I got enough for it to make it worth selling.

First time in a long time I've taken an extended ride without lowers. I use to poke at riders with windshields.  ;D

I used to habitually take the lowers off in the spring and put them back on in late fall.  The bike is noticeably warmer in the saddle with the lowers on.  Then maybe six years ago didn't put them on that fall.  They ain't been back on since.  Stored nice and safe though.

Just another reason why I have always relied on resetting my "B" trip meter every time I fill up.  Having said that I have run way more than what the "Range" has told me I had left in the tank.

Sorry to hear of your troubles and hopefully you will now be 3x's lucky and that is the last time you run out.

I do reset the b trip meter every fill up.  Part of the problem is I had been riding Red Pepper for the last month.  When range on her gets to 20 miles left I can usually add .8 to 1 gallon of gas.  So I'm thinking 38 miles left to go 20 is no issue.  Would still have at least 1/2 gallon in tank.  Boy was I wrong.

I truly hate running out of gas.  I sure hope it never happens again.
