I use it and it's a great addition to the bike. You have to drill about a 7/16" hole to get all of the wires into the fairing. I keep the antenna in the MP3 compartment. It makes taking the winshield on and off a little more complicated.

I have the 665 with XM and love it. I also got the NIM for voice support through the audio system. Legalley has an excellent thread here on the 665 install on an FLHXSE2/3, for those of us with the strangely-wired SESGs. I followed his instructions and everything works perfectly.

The hole you have to drill through the inner fairing is 11/16", not 7/16", if you use the fairing mount - which is what I would recommend. The big XM connector on the cable bundle needs an 11/16" hole in order to pass through into the fairing.

If you don't have and can't find a regular 11/16" drill bit, purchase a speed bore wood drilling spade bit. It's no more than $3 and it works perfectly for the application. I've done it on two different ultras and no problems.

Yep, that's what I did... except I do woodworking and have a nice set of Forstner bits, so I used the 11/16" one to do the job. It was admittedly a bit scary drilling into the shiny inner fairing, because there's no going back from that.... but the actual drilling took less than a minute to do. Just use the template that comes with the mount, and make sure you have the center of the hole in exactly the right position!

I had the pucker factor as well, I used a scratch awl to put an indent on the template crosshair. Then heated the awl with a small torch and pushed it through to the outside to make a perfect pilot hole.
