They've been winging about doing that for some time now.  It won't happen the fight is they can't dictate to people what one can and cannot have as means of transportation as long as it road worthy.
There are more people killed by cars going into the canals then on train crossings, more cyclists killed by trucks making left turns,
So to prevent any more of those deaths,..? What,.. drain the canals stop trucks from making left turns the list goes on.
It's down to the individual person to use common sense. No stable person goes out to be killed it's a terrible accident usually because of the lack of paying attention for one reason or another or by one party or the other or both parties. Using the road like a race track will get you killed. Back to individual responsibility.

Banning motorbikes of the road ,....will never happen. At least not in the rest of my life time.

So you can be comfortable putting the UK back on your bucket list.  Once this Covid-19 is sorted out.
