Wheel bearings need to be changed after 8000-10000 km's?
« on: August 18, 2010, 01:27:30 AM »

Hi mates,

I read from Finnish HD web pages that fellow Fat Bob riders have had problems with those Korean made wheel bearings. They had to be changed after 8000 km's or so. This has been done by the dealer for the warranty. But the dealer only accepted to put these "original" HD spare parts which were also these Korean made crap quality bearings. So, the same show will be ahead again after 8000 km's.

Guys, are you aware of these low quality parts in our US made rides? This almost make me nervous...  :-[ Still I really love my bike. Maybe this doesn't concern CVO's? Maybe  :nixweiss:

I just now spun up 5000 miles (about 8000km) and have had a bout with shimmy---never thought about wheel bearings. Thanks for the heads up. I will have them checked. The 5000 mile check up was just done and the bike got a clean bill of health--------Ummmmm, I wonder ? ;)
