I am thinking about purchasing this model in blue.  What is considered an average price and the "smoking deal" price.

Was the head issue resolved in 2008?

Any other problems inherent in this model year?

many of the 2008 were subject to the recall.  Have a dealer look up the VIN to see if this bike was subject to the recall and if it was performed.

Have a look at ChopperExchange.com for many examples of currently FLHRSE4 on the market.  many variables like miles and mods will determine price.  I would say low 20s a reasonable deal for a low mileage bike.  I paid $21K a year ago for an anniversary FLHRSE4 with about 3K miles with true dual exhaust.  It had the original SERT, which I changed out to a PC-V and passing lights.  Otherwise was stock.

Re: Head issue - mine was built July 07. The cylinder liner moved at just over 3700 mile IIRC.

Other problems:
- ECM went south
- Replace speedo twice
- Chrome on mirror flaked
- Fuel Filter Shell recall
- Replaced Butterfly Breathers
- Front tire replaced on warranty also

If seen em sell for under 20K

Still my favorite bike in the stable, but I'm sick.
