Took a ride today to my primary dealership...The owner gave me the new brochure along with a single sheet illustrating all the improvements. Overall, I was impressed. This is what I was told. The liquid cooling is for the exhaust valves, that is all that is liquid cooled. They dropped the oil cooler on the liquid cooled bikes, kept the oil cooler on the other models. I was also told that Harley addressed the crank bearings, all the 2014's have improved crank bearings. The small radiators in the lowers vent to the outside, I don't think they will cause heat issues for the legs. I really liked the lower vents. The fairing vent worked well too. A simple button opens and closes, not to hard to clean the passage way. The front neck looked beefier, the inside fairing was painted gloss black; with the new gauges the dash looked real nice, I really think it looked as nice as a CVO. The tour pack was larger, loved the new hinges. Looked real good, the turn signals are now in the tour pack. I was told that Harley was working on a way to add turn signals below, should a owner wish to remove the tourpack. The side bags look real nice, they open and close real easy. The brackets also looked better. Overall, this is one of the nicest touring bikes Harley has ever built. I would bet that the 2014's are real popular, the Limited is going to be the big seller. I would bet that the CVO's have a bit less demand, the Limited comes real close in content. For more than 10 grand additional, you get nicer paint, power locks, nicer wheels and more chrome. Time will tell.
The number one question: how does the 2014 limited ride and run? If the bike runs stronger and delivers added riding enjoyment; they will have a hit. If the bike requires "adjustments" to run well, I think it will hurt the sales. This bike needs to run well as delivered. No big heat issues, no pinging and adequate power.
