wiseguy, I don't think you paid sticker price.  The Fatboy should be $28,000 plus freight and setup, which should be about $500.  How do you end up at $35,000?

Agree...even taking out the 14% tax, the price pain including freight and doc fee is US$31,369.14

Dude, it's both a somewhat scary question and a question that some might be perfectly understandably unwilling to comment on.  But it'd be interesting to find out just how much premium some dealers were getting and where they might be.  See how much geography impacted on the CVO sticker shock.

Personally I got lucky.  The dealer sold the bike for MSRP but they weren't the cheapest on delivery and setup fees.  All tolled I was $800.00 over sticker when they finished sharpening the pencil to add delivery and setup.  Could have done $300.00 better at one other place I spoke to.  But the $800.00 shop was local and the $500.00 shop was almost eight hours away.  Back last fall we didn't know these were going to be sitting on the floor as they seemed to be now.  So it wasn't worth the risk or the time to fool with it for the difference.

hd-dude, At the time of your bike purchase, you bought that luscious Two Tone Cherry SEEG at the going price in your area.  It seems that the tides are turning, or maybe it is the sign of people not wanting to buy a CVO in the "Off" seasons, but from the reports we are seeing in the SEEG thread about "does anyone know where a red one is".... there are a lot of CVO bikes sitting on floors of dealerships who would just love to move them out.  So we go back to the very old adage "Supply and Demand."  As long as there is more Demand than Supply.... prices can go up.  I just completed my Customer Satisfaction Survey on the purchase of my new bike and sent it back to whomever their survey people are, and the dealership that delivered my bike got pretty much a perfect score. In the write in area, however, I told my tale of dealer markups and I implored the MoCo to step in and make their dealers honest.  Make them sell at MSRP.  It is only the fair thing to do.   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
