winter mods
« on: January 29, 2008, 10:42:23 AM »

Well, I started ordering my winter mods... Vance and hines true dualls W/slash cut tips, rear aeleron floor boards, rear turn signal relocation kit, mid low removeable sissy bar, harley race tuner, big air intake and a custom order lepera maverick seat w/ classic flame stitched in orange. I have already done panacea/ kyurkin smoked l.e.d. turn signals all around/taillight, accessory driving lights up front and  lay down license plate frame. I am aware that  :worthless:  and I will try and remember to take some shots as i get parts in and do the work.

P.S. the turn signal relocation kit is more in depth than one would think it is for the amount of distance it moves the turn signals...

FlatoutKrazy,

Ya gots to Love that handle. If you are not yet welcomed by the huge assortment of techno's, anal perfectionists and OCD victims from this wonderful gathering of brothers and sisters, then welcome.

If already welcomed and all that.....Ya know, just being friendly, ya heard?

Question: I believe you must have a SE FatBoy, for the obvious reasons, Yes? If so, how did you decide on true duals for the SEFB? I can't think of too many that have true duals on the FatBoy threads.

Or am I just out of coffee and pills again?

Just curious....

Lol, I think i am runnin out of coffee and pills here!!! I went with the true duals because I just like the look of them. I have always liked it when 1 pipe comes back on each side. The difference in performance was minimal so I just went for it. I wanted to put rear boards on that matched the fronts so I had to do something with the exhaust to get em to fit.  Once all the parts get here I will put em on and then take it in and get it dynoed with the harley race tuner. I will post up the results once I get em...  off to the coffee store!!!

Sounds good, where are the turn signals going now?  I like the panancea's, I'm not the best speller.  I love the pipes though.

I have that tailight on my bike and some smaller bullet turns, the wife when riding behind me made mention all the time that it was hard to distinguish the direction she could only tell it was blinking not to which side though. The Panacea ( probably spelled it wrong too) is not as bright as the stock brake light.......well mine isn't but that may be because it's the smoked version.....duh, I never claimed to be all that bright either.

I dont know, they seem pretty bright to me. Turn signals are LED too and they blink in rythem with the tail so its pretty noticeable. I havent followed it down the road though so I could be wrong. I have em set to flash when i hit the brake too.

The turn signals are relocated to the rear about an inch so the detachable sissy bar will fit. The relocation kit is a decent sized pain in the butt too for what it does. You gotta cut wires, thread through a tube about THAT much too small, and then resplice wires.

I got the relocation done, rear foot boards on, sissy bar on, stock exhaust off, stock intake off and now im gonna watch some football Pics later. I did actually remember to take some this time!!!!

Here is a pic of where I got my idea. I had wired these blue lights when it came to me. I will get a picture soon, but basically I just replaced these LEDS with Yellow ones and hooked then in to be turns, got rid of those giant bulbs back there and that big chrome bar and attached mini bullets in the most rearward hole on the fender strut that on your bike is plugged with a little round chrome button. My quick detach fits fine, no issues and my turns have this groove alternating effect fore and aft. I dig it. I will get pics when I put her back together..........the current state of bike does not allow this since the struts are laying on my workbench but you get the idea.

I had purchased the relocation kit and noticed they wanted to use those round bars to stick your turn signals way out there width wise. I found a real small set of those mini bullet LEDs and they have a threaded stem that fits ( Kuryakun mini bullets) where this hole is perfectly and held in place with a lock nut and washer behind the strut. I had to remove some wire from the rubber sleeve under the fender and route it behind the struts on the outside of the fender but it worked out real nice.
