Title: Mirror holes?
Post by: kevin_n on March 27, 2020, 08:41:56 PM
For those of you that switch your bars to ape hangers and had to switch to bar mounted mirrors, what did you guys use to fill the holes? Also with the inner fairing being painted to match how bad were the scuff marks left from the old mirrors? I am afraid that if I take the mirrors off that there will be  scuff marks that are past the point of being able to be buffed out. Anyone have any ideas or pictures? My bike is a 2016 so worried four years of use is to much, or am I just over thinking it?

Thanks
Kevin

Lots of plugs out there.  One source:

When you took your factory mirrors off was the fairing all scratched up from them?

Here is what I used, fit into the openings perfectly will add a bit of glide., They are black had my painter paint them Atomic Red for 2016 CVO Street Glide when he painted a copped tour pak for me.

No, but then again I replaced my bars and mirrors pretty quickly after getting the bike.  Plus the chips cover a large enough area that they should cover any damage from the old mirrors.

I plugged my holes with Harley headlight medallions part# 67668-05. They are the bar and shield. They are on older headlights. I have a 06 Fatboy also and it’s the medallion that’s on the headlight. They are adhesive backed. They cost 10.25 a piece in 2015. Fit over holes perfect. By far one of the best and certainly one of the cheapest mods I’ve done on a Harley-Davidson.😆
