Odd switch issue 2018
« on: May 31, 2020, 12:35:52 AM »

2018

Fresh out of warranty by 5 months, I noticed the right arrow on the brake side wasn’t lighting up at night, but everything else was. Just the arrow... tech said it’s all wired together and not an individual bulb.

It also has occasionally not started (bike keys up when flipping on switch, but pressing start does nothing). Not an everyday occurrence, just hit and miss. I would turn it back off, flip again and it’d fire right up.

New switch on order now.

Anybody else run into that?

The handlebar switch packs were problematic from day one, with various failure modes and often involving moisture.  Currently the right hand switch pack is on it's third or fourth engineering change level, and the left hand on it's second or third.  Haven't seen any complaints on the 19's or 20's so far, so maybe they finally got them right.  I'd ask the dealership to cover under a goodwill policy adjustment, since it was a widely known problem.
