Hey mike--any ETA on the bike yet???

Hey Mike.  Dealer has a Tequila Sunrise coming in the first week of October.  #1 on the list has scooped it, so that puts me at Number 2.  I was told yesterday, they should know how many SESG's and what colors they will be getting around mid to late November.  Looks like I may have to wait as long as possibly March........ :o......... But, the cold weather will soon be blowing, and it's GREAT to see the mods everyone is doing  :2vrolijk_21:.  I think I will drop a few grand on mods before I get the bike  :D........

Jerry;

          I have worked for both car and motorcycle dealers. I agree completely with your statement. How can you expect to do well at your chosen profession, when you do not take the time to be technically and tactically proficient. It simply astounds me when I recently was purchasing a new car from my local dealership, the HEAD salesman, with all of these awards around his desk, had NO clue about anything on this car!!! I would ask him a question, and he would give me a bulls!#$ answer. When we sat down at his desk, the business owner/sales mgr saw that I was NOT impressed and he came over to talk with me. I explained that I did my homework on this vehicle, one of the hottest selling vehicles in the U.S. to date, and it was a sad state of affairs that I new a lot more about the car than the salesman did. To top it off, when asked general knowledge questions, the guy out right LIED to me. Lets just say I did not buy from them.

I had Fullsac remove the cat and had the dealer install the fullsac 2.0" baffles. Then dyno tuned with a SERT. I am happy with the results, but believe the dyno tune is the key. As I posted elsewhere on this forum the AFR numbers are key. Mine are AFR was set in 250rpm increments from 1500 - 3000 rpm then in 500 rpm segments from 3000 - 5000 rpm. Target was 14.1 to 3500; 13.6 @ 4000; 13.3 at 4500 and 5000. Idle is set at 1000 rpm with an AFR of 13.9.

Attached is the dyno run chart

Why not setting all to 13 AFR ? Wouldn`t this be a better performance result ?

 ;D ;D ;D

Well if all you wanted was performance you could set the AFR to 12.1.  HOever, this would get terrible gas mileage and at cruise foul the plugs.

You want the AFR at full throttle to be in the low 12's.  Then when you are cruising set the AFR to a higher number to get better gas mileage etc.  HD sets it at 14.5 or higher to run lean (and Hot) to meet EPA requirements.

The numbers above are good targets.

Putting any tuning device on and having it properly tuned from day one is not only good, it's mandatory IMO! ;)

Don't know much about that PC autotuner. Just referring to tuning of some type being necessary.

Not exhaust related.
Actually a Thank You to Delnel (Delbert). I beleive that I have purchased your 04 Screamin Eagle Ultra, and just wanted to say Thank You for maintaining it in the shape that you did. Is an absolutley gorgeous scooter and I look forward to giving her a workout - if this freeking snow ever melts. Keep me in mind if you get the urge to trade up again.
Go ride eh - Stepper
