My brother came over last night to see the new scoot. On the right side, sitting on the bike, there is a capped plug attached to the right down tube by the side cover. Is this a plug for a battery tender? Does anyone know if this is a standard item on the new SESG?
If the part you're talking about is the harness and plug for a Battery Tender, it isn't standard from H-D. Many dealerships however do install them on all the bikes during prep. I've never really asked if they do it as a customer service thing, or if they do it to make it much easier for them to charge the batteries of all the bikes in inventory. Could be a little of both I suppose, plus a good way to promote the sale of the H-D battery tender.
The attachment is a picture of the H-D accessory harness for the Battery Tender. If it matches what you're talking about, you've most likely found the answer as to what it is. Trace the wires back to the battery, if the wires go directly to the battery posts you have the definitive answer. If the wires disappear into the main wiring harness bundle, you've found something else that probably shouldn't be hanging out in the open.
