Looks to me they were either wired or cut on a waterjet, the internal cavity looks to tight to mill.

I believe they do have water jet in the shop

Odd thing about the headwinds is that on the site and out of the box it's a slight disappointment. Get them on and whooah baby they work and very bright with just basic bulbs. Think Slammr did upgrade bulbs also.
