It will be at the dealership for another 7 more working days for them to prep and install the accessories. I will be getting the axillary lights with trim rings, heated grips, the zummo nav. leather dash pad, drivers backrest, hwy pegs. pass. floor boards. I believe once it is all done she will be real sweet. I am hoping i will be able to ride her home weather permitting. The one thing i will say is that seeing the bike in pictures and then in person is like night and day.......the paint is awesome...... :2vrolijk_21:

Sweeeeet  :2vrolijk_21:  Congratulations my friend.  Know I can sell my shares in Wallyworld. HaHa.   Cant wait to see it with the mods you are doing.   If you are selling the passanger pegs, let me be first.  But as I typed this you put pegs on the front, DAH.

Aahhh yes the Timmy run! Truly Canadian. Name the place and time gents... No kidding we're hooking up for sure!! First sign on spring, mano needs to get outta the TO and head to niagara to meet us.

We can hook up with him in Hamilton or something then run the parkway from Fort Eire to Niagara on the lake... and every Timmy's on the route :pineapple:

Houston we have a few problems :'(

Went by the dealership today and my sales rep. was not there but i did chat with the shop manager. He let me in the back and i was able to take a few pictures for my scape book but i am really worried at this point.

The passing lights where on the bike but i was told that the harness that was on the 2011 SG was not adaptable with the wiring for the lights. Ditto for the heated grips too. They where in contact with Harley all day trying to find out how to do this. They said a new harness will have to be made for this to work. The dash pad would not fit properly ether I was told.....ish. He then said to me they will need more time.....AND MORE MONEY. At that point i said i will deal with this in the morning with my sales rep. There is no way i will pay more since i was given the estimate already and if Harley screwed up by selling parts that are not compatible. These where parts that where out of the 2011 Harley parts and accessory catalog. I am sure at the end it will all get done. I just hope there are no problems down the road.

On the one hand... I feel bad for you with all the frustration that this BS is causing.  >:(

On the other hand...  At least you have the time to let them make it right, and not have to worry about missing any saddle time due to the friggin snow we're gettin.  :nixweiss:

Make them make it right   :drink:

Sorry to hear about your problems.   :(

When getting a new bike one is always excited and certainly does not need news like you received today.  :o

I would suggest doing a little homework on your own prior to sitting down with your sales rep.
Look up the parts in the P&A catalogue or on-line and if those parts list that they fit your 2011 SESG, then you will be well equipped to deal with the situation.
On the other hand if they do not list your bike, you may have some concerns to work through.

As mentioned, this is an exciting time for you (even with all the snow outside now)  :nervous: (don't worry the weatherman says Toronto's is coming this weekend) and hopefully everything will work out to your satisfaction.

All the best!

Thanks guys but yes it is nice to get this all out of the way now and not in riding weather. So no heated grips. As i said in the heated grip thread. They also want another 2 more hours of labour to install the passing lights. The dash pad will go on. Apparently they ordered the wrong hardware. I brought up the rear brake rotor as i talked about in the brake tread. They have no answer yet. I will be going to see what is going on Friday night. Ish.  :-\

Hopefully they can rectify all of this for you . It is somewhat depressing when you get your new bike and all of a sudden everything falls apart.
I just seen my new one that is the same color as yours. They look awsome in real life. I can hardly wait to get on it and ride. I am also waiting for the dealer in London to finish up with all of the extras being installed .
Hope yours gets finished properly for you.
I would be interested in meeting up sometime in the spring with you guys.

Congrats on the new ride.  I just got the same one (color) last month.  I love my new bike.  I have already put on the highway pegs, Rinehart exhaust, headlight bezel, slotted shift linkage, rider backrest, and changed the windscreen.  Still more to do, glad it's winter time so I won't feel bad for being in the garage vice out riding.  Safe riding.

Sorry to hear about all of the trouble that you were having.  I have found that with my FLHXSE2, you can't really totally trust what the P&A book states about fit.  There are a few "different" things regarding the 2011 vs the 2010.  I tried installing the SE Heavy Breather on the bike last night, it doesn't fit with the lower fairing even though the parts catalog states that they make one specifically for the bikes with lower fairings.  I will be installing the Zumo 665 soon, I am sure that I will learn something else during that evolution as well.

This is what the  Zumo 665 looks like on my ride.
Nice, thanks for the pic.  Mine is being installed today in the same location.  I was worried when I looked in the 665 box and noted a fairing mount in the box, since I had purchased a "fairing mount" for $40 from the dealership.  Turns out, the mount that I bought from the dealership is really a mount for the fairing mount.  Required if you want the clean install like you depicted.

What you should do is get them to also install the Audio Cable that comes with the 665. It will plug from the zumo to the radio which will allow the sound to come through on the speakers of the bike which can then be turned off by selecting AUX on the radio. The wire will then run inside the batwing and come out at the right side of the handle bar. It looks like crap right now until i figure out how to bring the wire out from the side of the radio.

Or send the radio to Iron Cross and have them add the aux port to the back of the radio. Then all you have to do is select Aux and you will have the ZUMO plaing through the radio and no wire going into the front AUX jack.

Sounds good MJB but who is Iron Cross? I would love to do this as i was going to try and pinch the wire between the radio and faring.....yes i know not a good idea but i hate the look of that wire coming across like that.

Thanks in advance.

Found it MJB. Never thought of that.....I will see if anyone does it here in Toronto. Thanks.

Found a guy here in Toronto that will do this modification. I will be removing the radio and taking it to him next week. A local HD dealer here gets his work done there too. I know that the warranty on the radio will be void once they open it but i do not think i can look at that wire anymore....it must get done. Once I go through with it i will post the place for others who might be interested.

The pegs where the ones that my bike came with. The brackets on the parts sales quote say that the brackets are: KIT.PEG EXTENTION,RIGHT ANGLE SHORT #50830-07AFDI-REG

UPDATE......It has been a long winter but finally I have been able to get out and ride. The last 4 days the temperature has been above zero and sunny so I have taken advantage of the alright weather. All I can say is WOW. This is bike number 6 for me and my first Harley. 800KM and will probably do another 150 to 200 KM tomorrow. First service here i come. Anyway i wish i now had the heated grips. I could have used those but other than that so far so good. I followed the rules to break her in properly. Staying under 3000 rpm and have not put it into 6th gear yet. I plan to just open her up once she rolls over 1000 km.

Anyway as you all can tell I have been "winning"......I mean riding....lol. How is Charlie?

I know.....pictures.....I will post some new ones soon with a few more changes I made.

It's funny, but my dealership agreed to do it for me...with the obligatory "but you'll shoot yer eye out" warranty voiding BS...

I soooo badly wanted to do this. I found a shop that would move it to the back of the radio for me here in Toronto but when I removed the faring and seen what was going on and the thought of voiding the radio warranty i decided to leave it be. Just to make it look a bit better this is what i did to try and hide the wire.
