2010 street glide saddle bags
« on: July 27, 2009, 12:35:00 PM »

did anyone notice the 2010 se street glide saddlebags look like they are one piece vs the rather crummy way they extended the '09 se road glide saddle bags?

Saw that. And the MoCo is nice enough to offer the bottoms, color matched to some, for $1299.95. Say it give additional storage space. Does not say how much space tho.

That's what I figured from the catalog pic

Color-Matched Stretched Saddlebag Bottoms

Add the long and low "slammed" look to your Touring bike without compromising the suspension travel and ride height. These Stretched Saddlebag Bottoms wrap around the exhaust to add visual length to the bike, and hide the muffler bracket and hanger from view. The full-depth extended Saddlebag Bottoms add additional storage capacity, and are manufactured of the same materials as the latest Original Equipment saddlebags for a glass smooth painted surface. Available primed or factory-finished to match your Original Equipment single-color painted finish, these Stretched Bottoms are pre-drilled to accept your existing saddlebag lids and latches. Simply attach the extended saddlebag bottom to your saddlebag lids with the included hardware, and install on the bike like the original bags. Fits '93-later Touring models equipped with color-matched hard saddlebags.

This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle.

When they write "Bottoms" it means that you get the lower part (minus the top, and hardware). The bottoms are actually different in looks, when compared to the 2009 extensions, specifically when seen from the back. Since they are higher than the regular bottoms, they have a little more storage.

Ride safely,

new saddle bags were once peice and looked way better than the 2 pice we have on the road glide.
yes there was more space but i hope they make a bag liner for this bag since i hate raw plastic.

i asked the moco if i could order the 1 piece painted matching for my se road glide and he said no
bummer

... and as far as "extra" space, well after seeing one yesterday at a dealer IMHO you just might be able to fit your rolled tool bag in the bottom and that's about all the "extra" space you have.

They are NOT open as far as they appear to be from the outside obviously due to a heat issue from the pipes.  Really the only improvement over the '09 SERG's would be that they don't look like an add-on extension.

I'd take that.. ;)...it would be a great place for them since the heat wouldn't hurt the tools. And the weight would be nice and low.   :) spyder
