Slip-On / Exhaust System Re-visited
« on: May 05, 2010, 03:23:15 PM »

I read the discussion a month of so ago about pipes, exhaust, and slip ons. But it grew beyond me being to make a good choice. I bought my SESG in March 2010. I have only had to oppurtunity to put about 300 miles on it due to deplopying for my job. I am looking to install new mufflers when I get back at the end of his month. Friends have advised a new exhaust system to just slip ons. I would not mind a bit more performance but mostly looking to get the growl- not a deafing sound. Wife told me it sounded like a Honda when I road it home from the dealer! So I figured that after a year, there are probably some good suggestions. Thanks for your help.

That's funny.. mine called it a Lexus.

Can't speak for the rest but I don't like loud. To me loud is just loud and not necessary fast. I was looking for "the growl" and more deeper Harley sound, less heat and better throttle response along with decent power. I not only got that but I'm getting 43 MPG.

I purchased Steve's X-Pipe package which includes the B series X-Pipe, 1.75 cores and the TTS. The install was a breeze and there's a smile on my face and money left in my pocket.

Fullsac.com but get the number and call Steve as this package is not on his web as of yet.

Just my .02

You will get many more opinions but this was a good choice for me.

Go with the Fullsac setup. Get the 2" baffles.  Steve told me they work better on the 110".

Fullsac Headpipe for sure.....I went with V&H slip-ons, but everybody who went with the Fullsac cores is happy. The V&H can get a bit loud at times, but I happen to like that.

Happy with 2.0" Fullsacs and a SERT/dyno tune.
