Picked up a black - crimson today
« on: September 13, 2010, 11:03:35 PM »

I got it home and , this is the best bike period I have riden . The handling , seat position is outstanding did 100  miles today never knew a welshman could be this happy!!

DEAL - SERK Black  4 yrs 22K got retail on it 18 K , msrp only and 50% off freight and set up , plus free first service . I was very happy . My SERK has some weird noises , and vibration was getting worse ( 5 engine mounts gone through !!!)

I had green on order but changed after I saw more pics of black and the "paint issue " . This one is a thing of beauty the black diamomd is so much brighter than my serk black .

The stereo is amazingly loud and clear , bit of advice make sure all songs on ipod are 320kps and the eq is acoustic  or off ( huge difference) and avoid live CD's where possible

Also list of 8 below me and dealer is only getting 3

BTW did the chrome stealth rack looks fantastic .

Will post pics soon.

Heat is much more than SERK any advice ? was thinking the seat deflectors they worked on my serk

If anyone is going to daytona , I will be there with my acdc band at Boothill for 3 nights with bike would love to do the loop with others- www.highwaytohellrocks.com

I know originally my SERK was pretty toasty as well....once I changed out the headers to Vance and Hines True Duals....and put some Cary Faas Racing Pipes on it....BINGO....heat was never an issue again...it all went out the back  ;D

Those slip-ons are a little on the loud side though....probably too much for some....but the deep rumble is music to my ears....I will be doing the same to this one :2vrolijk_21:

Getting rid of the CAT and taking some back pressure off the motor is the biggest help I think one can make for reducing the heat !

Congrats!  Love the idea of the chrome stealth rack.  Will look forward to pix of that.  Here's a picture of mine after riding it for a coiuple weeks.  Really like the sound of the exhaust with the V&H true duals and hi output mufflers.  Keep us posted on your mods.

First, nice bike!

Question on those pipes:

Are the O2 sensors in the same spot as stock on the header?

What mufflers are those? Look really nice.

Thanks.  Yes the sensors are in the same spot.  They're Vance & Hines High Output mufflers.

Here's a crummy picture from the back of the bike but it will give you the general idea.  I added the Harley SERT and the motor runs MUCH cooler.  Sounds great ( pretty loud and very deep rumble). I think the head pipe and mufflers totalled about $1200, the SERT was $400, and the dyno tune was about $300.

It was the sound more than anything else that drove me to add this system.  The tru dual headpipe and Hi output exhaust create a deep very distinctive rumble-different from the X pipes.  Might have lost a little power but I wanted that specific sound.  The bike still dynoed pretty well.  91 HP/112/ft Lbs torque.

Wow that looks good.
