Too Hot
« on: July 27, 2012, 08:20:48 AM »

Something seems to be wrong with the heat output of this 110 motor on my 20011 FLHXSE2.  I have the complete Fulsac stage 1 kit on it and it doesn't seem to make that much difference.  Much hotter than my 2012 103 motor on my Ultra which has the Fulsac upgrade as well.  I am sure this has been discussed before.  Only solution is to poor water on my leg and the female passangers love it. >:( :-\ :soapbox:  Any solutions suggested out there?

The 110" motor, even when the cat is removed and properly tuned runs much, much hotter than the 103".  Do a search...there's enough on this forum to keep you reading about it until winter. ;)

I have done it all and the best thing I have found is to remove the lower fairing. I know you want to keep the speakers but if you want it cool enough to enjoy they have to go.

I agree removing the Lowers is the best thing to do. But trimming the Vent doors will help a little.

You can also remove the adjustable vents completely.

LEI live in Florida.  It's hot here !     I took my lowers off and it made a hued difference.  I dont miss the speakers, I really didn't think they did too much anyway.  I have the fulsac with a good tune and some cams.   Really not too bad.  Removing the lowers made it a whole lot better.   You can always put them back on when it cools off.   I don't think I will till I sell it.   I like the look without them and I get some more leg room. Good thing I have a big closet.  :)
