It is with a heavy heart that I have to report that brother Randy passed away earlier today. He was dealt a bad hand the last few years battling failed kidneys and a failing heart, but true to form he never let it get him down. He was a truly great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
-
Man... I'm speechless... not something I was expecting or wanting to hear. Randy and I shared a room together on my first CVO GTG... this is a sad day... very sad. :o :(

Sad day today indeed. I got to spend some time with him the last two GTGs and get to know him a little. He'll be missed for sure. :(
-
Dammit. Last time I talked to him was a couple months ago. We chatted 3 of 4 times a year. Hate this news.
-
While I never met Otis, I know he was a special friend to many of you... God Bless his family and friends...
-
Very sad news indeed, going to miss the yearly pilgrimage to Daytona and hanging out with him. Our condolences to Marlene and family and his good friends. He will be missed.
-
I knew earlier today when the call came it would not be news I wanted to hear. Randy and I became good friends because of this site and that friendship grew over the years. Out of the blue the phone would ring and there would be Randy just wanting to shoot the breeze. Of course that worked the other direction too, as I would call him just to shoot the breeze. Over the years of attending GTG's we enjoyed each others company and shared a lot of stories, laughs, and even berry juice.
Rest In Peace My Friend! You will be missed but not forgotten.
And saying a special prayer for Marlene.

Randy was truly dealt a bad hand with his health the last few years but continued to fight and attend MV and WV get togethers while having dialysis there. He always made me feel welcome and made a point to find me out to chat. He was a first class guy . He will be greatly missed. We will keep his memory alive on here and at future get togethers. Prayers to his wife, family, Shrader and Susan, Hubbard, Ken and many friends.

Very sad news indeed. Those that had the pleasure to have known Otis were very blessed.

Otis was a true Classic, we first met in NRG and several yrs later he walked right up to Paula and I and called us by name, that's the kind of guy he was. He rode hard and I am lucky to be able to say he was my friend. I will always remember him and my condolences to his family.
God bless Randy

Like me and most of us I met Randy through this site and once you met Randy you could count on one thing and that was having a brother for life. My brother R.I.P. you will be missed,,, but not forgotten!

This is sad news to hear, Randy was one of the first members to greet me at my first GTG in MV, He made us feel welcome and always included. Oh and he was always very generous with his very fine "Berry Juice" . He was a man I could call a friend, and we will miss him very much. Our condolences to Randy's family and friends for the passing of a Good Man.

Shrader and Berlon leading a group of riders leading Randy 'Otis' Clay to his resting place.
I'm sure Otis was in heaven yelling at the hearst driver to speed up and pass Shrader and Berlon.
Very moving and appropriate service for Otis.

From what I heard during the services I'm sure he wanted to pass them. Eddy Day from the Bridge in Princeton did a great job of helping everyone celebrate Randy's life. Shrader did a fantastic job telling some nice stories about the jokester side of Randy. It was moving to see and meet his friends and see how much he was a part of their lives.

I would like to thank everyone for the condolences, pictures and kind words everyone has posted on this site. It has been heartwarming for me to read them and to know how much Randy was liked. He had not been well for quite a while but he never gave up. Such a trooper! The day before he passed, he said he wanted to ride the V Rod since the weather was nice. He went to the truck to get his drivers license and came back in the garage and had to sit down to catch his breath. Of course I was telling him he was not well enough to be riding. As usual, he didn't listen to me. He said it wouldn't be too stressful and off he went. Later that evening we attended a dinner at the Ghost Riders Club House and we had a good time. Then the next morning he was still having breathing problems and agreed to go to the emergency room by ambulance. The hospital is just a few minutes away and by the time we got there, blood work and EKG was done and he died almost immediately. I was with him and everything happened so fast.
Special thanks to Shrader, Miss Susan, Berlon, Kenny & Francine. It's comforting to have such good friends. I have met a few of the CVO group and was hoping to attend one of the gatherings so I could meet more, but with 3 dogs it was hard to get away together especially with Fred (the mean one)!
Thanks again for everything. I know Randy loved being part of the CVO group.

I'm trying to remember.......OTIS and Derek went to Daytona with me 2 years in a row. I think it was 2010 & 2011. I still had that Champagne colored Duramax, because one year he Trailered his and Derek's Bikes with it, and the next year he Trailered them with that white Dually of mine. The first trip, Derek had that flat-black Fat Bob, and the next year he had the Skunk. OTIS also took that SE V-Rod of Kennie's, one year. That picture was taken at Harry's house. Harry & Michelle treated us all to a meal fit for a King, that night. Steaks 3" thick!!! Then, we went to "Main Street." A night me and Harry won't soon forget! But I won't go there. Lol. I miss Ol' OTIS. He made me laugh! Later--HUBBARD
-
Hub,
It was the year of the Skunk. I vividly remember almost being arrested for putting the key in it in Daytona and then riding it home in 40 degrees temps with a wind breaker on I-4. Then sat outside freezing while you made the 11 stop ride home hahaha. Bubble blowing comes to mind.

Otis was looking good in this picture so if it was taken in 2010 or 2011 that was before he started going down hill. The year of 2013 was when his kidneys shut down and when he had quadruple bypass surgery. He was a tough one and never gave up. :(

Randy was a great man and I sure do regret the fact I never got to know him as well as some of the others. He was and always will be a true brother.

2 years already.
Still miss him and every once in awhile listen to my last voicemail from Randy. Always gave me a chuckle talking with him.
