You can't ride ALL the great roads down there in one trip!  I've been going there for ten years and rode roads I'd never been on before every trip.  The Dragon is just 11 of many, many great miles of roads in that region.  Judy will find no shortage of excuses to keep going back! :2vrolijk_21:

Agreed...I can see that happening...I went on a lot of good roads and was only there 2 days!!!!

Only once this trip on the Cherahala and Dragon. But I try and do both of those at least once while there.

Interesting question I got coming back to MV on the Cherahala.
Having done all the nice roads out to the Dragon (19 all the way to 28), side rides to Fontana and Cheoah Dams, little diversion to Bald River Falls and a quick pit stop at one of the bunkers on the Skyway, I was Q'd - "what is the quickest, shortest, less curvy way back to the hotel?"  :oops:

"Ah - there ain't no shortcuts in the western mountains of NC!"

Glad my GPS was working at the time to show the route home  :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

First one was Wednesday morning at Switzerland Inn before heading to MV.

Yes, on occasion, I do get up before sunrise!  Ran out of Makers Mark Tuesday.  :(
