If your big engine is beating the snot out of the compensator, imagine what that big engine is going to beat the snot out of with a solid engine sprocket. Something has to absorb those pulses; will it be the crankshaft, the primary chain, the clutch basket, the transmission, or what?
Are you certain your compensator isn't able to handle the load? Have you looked at adding another spring, or replacing one with a stronger spring? There has to be something out there for high output engines other than just a solid connection. :nixweiss:

Hard drive has a heavier spring pack. Depends on your spring pack now but you can double stack the smallest one or shim it.
That fine splined flywheel is what is going to take the beating.
